The
Indie Pendant CAST
Vision Dynamics received over 1500 headshots and resumes from all over
the country for THE INDIE PENDANT. Kelly Schwarze and Edward Dentzel
had a difficult time narrowing them down, eventually coming to a point
where they felt comfortable going forward with auditions. They held
sessions on two different occasions in Las Vegas and three in Los Angeles,
finally selecting the cast you see below in early April of 2004.
A month and a half later, on May 22, principal photography began.
So, who are these people that were crazy enough to want to join the VDE
crew?
The diverse cast consisted of: A young man in his first film,
a seasoned actor who has appeared in just about every Vegas production
in the last ten years, a young woman who works on Six Feet Under, a producer
of a popular Vegas show, a former stand-up comedian giving acting a shot
once again, two experienced foreign-born actors, a UNLV film student,
and an Academy Award winner who was most gracious in doing a cameo. .
.who?. . .you’ll have to see the movie.
They, and the rest, will provide a roller-coaster story that allows for
their true talents to show through. They put up with long days,
hot Vegas weather, early calls, and a variety of other conditions inherent
to “INDIE PENDANT” filmmaking. They should all be congratulated
whether they are in one scene or many.
“There are no small roles. . .”

Nick
ErnsT - kevin
sanderson
The independent filmmaker “Every Man.” Always short on
money but long on ideas, he looks for a way to turn his dream into
his career. However, he has found out that he has been ripped off.
. .and now he wants his due credit. To complete his vision and get
his revenge, he will stop at nothing. |
 |
Rusty
Meyers - Robert Wynn
The Hollywood producer “Every Man.” Although an expert
on the ins and outs of getting a movie made, he lacks any original
ideas and is afraid to push the envelope. When a new kind of script
lands in his lap, though, he sees his chance to be daring by claiming
it as his own and getting it made. |
 |
Joy
Highsmith - Jennifer Rand
Ahhhh. . .if every guy could have a girlfriend like this. Loyal and
respectful on one hand but independent and tough on the other. She
has been Kevin’s shining light for three years. But now, she
is at the end of her rope. All she really wants is for him to find
a direction in life. . .but she is not going to wait around while
Kevin wanders. |
 |
Lysander
O. Abidia - Cory Franklin
A former independent filmmaker and, even more, former best friend
of Kevin. He bolted when Jennifer, his girlfriend, dumped him for
Kevin. . .and Kevin went along with it. In a way, he wants them to
be friends again. . .but he won’t go out of his way to make
it happen. Now, Kevin needs him. Will Cory go along? |
 |
Eddie
Deirmenjian - Peter
Right hand man of Kevin who delights in the carnal things that Las
Vegas can provide. He and Kevin have been out of contact with each
other since their last movie, Mayor May Not. Now, Kevin needs to him
to partner up again to produce something much more than an independent
movie. |
 |
Walter
Villeda - Dave
Left hand man of Kevin who honed his filmmaking skills with his amigos
in Guatemala before moving to Las Vegas. Due to a continuing issue
with his green card, he worries about doing any illegal. Now, though,
Kevin needs him to put his green card on the line to make a secret
production come together. |
 |
James
Germano - Mark Gorden
If go-kart racing wasn’t a sport, this man would be unemployed.

wheels forever. In the meantime, Kevin recruits him to drive a fast
car for a “publicity stunt.” |
 |
Ellen
Lawson - Donna Sumners
A very nice diva whose best days are behind her. . .or so she thought.

all places: Hollywood. Always ready to show off her talents, she is
ready to ignore the extras and push around whoever it takes to let
everyone know she still commands all of the respect on set. |
 |
SANDY
HACKETT - Roy Patterson
Weatherman who saw his greatest popularity when mullets were fashionable.
Always dabbling in the world of acting, he hopes that some day a director
will see his “inner actor”. For now, Kevin has recruited
him to play a theater manager. . .a character that Roy wants to embellish
on. |
 |
Martina
Lotun - Martina
If she wasn’t kicking butt, she’d be a supermodel. But
rumor has it that she used to be a supermodel until she saw Zoolander,
then discovered she wanted to do more for the world. Thus, she became
“muscle for hire.” Along the way, she ran into Markus
who became her partner then her life mate. |
 |
Martin
Gruber - markus
NOT the brains of the Markus-Martina operation. Before he found Martina,
he was a two-bit muscleman who could not rough up anyone above a bellboy.
Now, with Martina at his side, he believes anything is possible. After
getting married, he thought his life would just be marital bliss and
martial arts. . .but Martina has something else in store for him. |
 |
Charlotte
Marie - Angie
Jennifer’s hoochie-mama best friend who hates Kevin. She will
do everything in her power to get Jennifer away from him. |

McCord - colin May
Following in the steps of Will Smith, Ice Cube, and Snoop Doggy Dogg,

Like most people working in the California sun, the delivery guy isn’t

state of mind, he’s always looking for an easy way of avoiding
work. Thus, he might be conned by the unscrupulous who want what he
is delivering. |
